Some of my happiest times at Nottingham University were LARPing round the university campus. The university has a lake with a number of fantastic locations: woods, caves, islands, "temples" and more and made for the perfect place to LARP.
Adventures were held twice a week running a couple of different systems and whatever the weather you'd find a number of us racing around on a Saturday or Sunday evening, hitting each other with latex swords (or foam and gaffer tape weapons!), wearing metal chain or plate mail, or casting powerful magic and defeating terrible foes.
The roleplaying was generally of a high standard and members of the society often went to larger events around the country. Halycon days!
